Our History

stressed boy with homeworkIn the early 1990’s the founders of Interactive Metronome (IM) discovered that the tempo and beat of music proved to be a great benefit to children diagnosed with learning and developmental disorders. With that discovery, they created a computerized brain-based therapy that incorporated movement, timing, and rhythm.

While researching a drug free alternative to help our son diagnosed with slow brain processing speed, I was led to Interactive Metronome therapy. After observing the various diagnoses that IM addressed, I became passionate about the positive results, and chose to obtain my Interactive Metronome certification in 2009. I established Imagine IMprovement utilizing the therapy based research of the founders of IM.

I began working with clients from a group home that cared for children with trauma and learning difficulties. My conviction and passion were rewarded in that first year. In the years since it has been a privilege to help many children and adults acquire new skills and abilities they or their families never thought possible.

In 2017, Jodi Brown joined the team and we continue to enhance the lives of our clients to this day. We offer individualized training plans that are flexible and effective. As a team, we continue to learn and improve our knowledge through the IM University and other resources.

Over 30 years of continued research has confirmed IM’s effectiveness in improving timing in the brain; the basis for all that we think, remember, act, and do. Both children and adults enjoy this fun and engaging program which brings about positive changes in the brain.

Hello! My name is Sally Ellis. I have a Bachelor of Science from the University of Montana and taught preschool for 19 years. My husband and I were foster parents for over 24 years and, in that time; we had many children with learning and behavioral challenges in our care. Seeing the undesirable effects of some drugs on these children, prompted me to seek  treatment that did not involve drugs, but which had similar or preferably, better outcomes. That quest to find a drug free option led me to Interactive Metronome. This effective therapy captured my wholehearted interest.

While I had sought out a therapy that would help with one particular learning disability, I quickly realized that there were many various diagnoses that were addressed with the IM therapy. I became passionate about helping children meet challenges with the positive results I observed with IM. I worked to obtain my IM certification and established Imagine Improvement in 2009. I have always had a heart for children and especially those who have learning difficulties. IM offers a solution backed by amazing research followed with even more amazing long-term results.

Positive and Patient

Welcome! My name is Jodi Brown. I have a Bachelor of Science from Eastern Washington University and have taught elementary school for 16 years. Several years ago, I also began working for students with behavioral and mental challenges in the community. The experiences as a CBRS and teacher have shown me that drugs do not get to the root of the problem and often come with side effects that only add to an already difficult situation. I was determined to find an alternative therapy that allowed children to reduce and even eliminate the need for medicine. When Sally shared the amazing results her clients were experiencing using Interactive Metronome therapy, I knew I had found the answer. Even more amazing, was to find that the Interactive Metronome therapy improves the brains timing, therefore its’ benefits reach far beyond the academic and behavioral spectrum to include adults as well. I became a Certified Metronome Provider, IM Home Specialist and have obtained additional hours in ADHD, Reading, Dyslexia, Adult and Stroke. I joined Sally so together we could offer a drug free alternative therapy that may quite possibly change you or your child’s life in ways never thought possible.

Greetings! I was determined to find a new way or therapy that took a more natural approach and allowed children to reduce and even eliminate their medicine. When Sally approached me with the results she had experienced using IM therapy, I knew I had found “a new way” to meet the difficult challenges I see others face on a daily basis. I was so excited to find a therapy that treats the cause in children and adults naturally and with long-term success in both children and adults that I studied to become a Certified Metronome Provider, IM Home Specialist and have obtained additional hours in Reading, Pediatric and Adult study. I joined Sally so together we could offer a drug free alternative that may quite possibly change lives in ways no one thought possible.
